March 2025 Release Notes

A WYSIWYG editor, resume templates, context-aware AI editing, and more — here's everything new in CareerCraft Studio this month.

March has been a big month for CareerCraft Studio. We've been heads down building, refactoring, and polishing — and the result is a platform that's smarter, faster, and a lot more pleasant to use. Here's a rundown of what's new.

A Real WYSIWYG Editor

We migrated our document editor to Plate.js, a modern WYSIWYG framework. Instead of editing raw markdown, you now get a Word-like experience — bold text looks bold, headings look like headings, and there's a full toolbar for formatting. This makes editing resumes and cover letters feel natural and intuitive.

Resume Stylesheet Templates

Your resume deserves to look great. We added five professionally designed templates — Modern, Classic, Compact, Executive, and Minimal — that apply to both the editor preview and your exported PDF. Switch between them while editing and see exactly how your resume will print before you download it.

Context-Aware AI Editing

The AI features in the editor now understand what you're working on. When you're editing a resume for a specific job, the AI knows the job title, required skills, and company context. Menu commands changed from generic actions like "Emojify" to targeted ones like "Write professional summary" and "Tailor to job posting". Copilot autocomplete also picks up on professional language and terminology from the job posting you're targeting.

AI Copilot with Usage Tracking

Inline copilot completions are now wired into your account with usage tracking. Free-tier users get 50 copilot completions per month, while Pro users enjoy unlimited access. This brings the same smart-autocomplete experience you know from code editors into your career documents.

AI SDK v6 Upgrade

Under the hood, we upgraded to Vercel AI SDK v6, stabilizing all previously experimental APIs. This isn't something you'll see directly, but it means our AI features are built on a supported, production-ready foundation — and it unlocks advanced capabilities we'll be rolling out soon.

Job Posting Detail Redesign

The job posting details page got a visual refresh with polished card styling, icon containers in section headers, and subtle hover states. It's a small change that makes the whole dashboard feel more cohesive and polished.

Resume Pipeline Overhaul

We refactored the resume generation engine from a monolithic 1,300+ line file into a clean, modular architecture. This doesn't change what you see, but it makes the system more reliable and sets the stage for faster feature development going forward.

What's Next

We're continuing to improve the AI experience, add more templates, and make the overall workflow smoother. If you have feedback or feature requests, we'd love to hear from you. Thanks for being part of the CareerCraft Studio journey!
